Cafie Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Cafie is a private coffee-selfie app operated by Alberto Gaudicos Jr, an individual developer based in the Philippines ("Cafie", "we", "us"). This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and how we enforce them.
1. Zero tolerance
Cafie prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children, without exception. This includes:
- any image that sexualises, endangers or depicts a minor in a sexual way;
- grooming, sextortion, or any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes;
- sharing, requesting or linking to CSAM anywhere on or through Cafie.
These rules are part of our Terms and Conditions (Section 5.1), which govern every use of Cafie.
2. Cafie is not for children
Cafie is for people aged 16 or older, as our Terms require; users aged 16 or 17 need a parent or guardian to agree to the Terms. Cafie is not directed to children and is not listed for them in app stores. We terminate any account we find belongs to someone under 16 and delete its content.
3. How the app limits risk
- Private by default. There is no public feed, search or follower system. Photos are visible only to the members of the small circle they were taken for.
- Camera-only selfies. Photos are taken live in the app; there is no upload from the photo library or the web.
- No direct messaging. Users cannot send each other private messages, images or links in the app.
4. Reporting in the app
Every collage and every circle member has a Report option, with "Involves a minor" as a specific reason. Account Settings also has a Report a problem form. Anyone, including people without an account, can report a concern by email to support@cafie.app.
Reported content is removed from view immediately while we review it, and we act on every report within 24 hours. Users can also block another user at any time.
5. How we respond to CSAM and child exploitation
When we find or are told about content or behaviour that may involve CSAE, we:
- remove the content from Cafie immediately;
- permanently terminate the account responsible, and prevent it from creating a new one where we can;
- preserve the relevant information for law enforcement, as the law requires, rather than only deleting it;
- report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, and to the relevant Philippine authorities, including under Republic Act No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act), as well as to authorities in other countries where the law requires it;
- cooperate fully with law enforcement requests.
6. Compliance with the law
We comply with all child safety laws that apply to Cafie, including the reporting obligations of the Philippines and of the countries where Cafie is available.
